Carlsbad New Mexico

Carlsbad Caverns was our second stop on our 4 week trip. Both David and I have been here YEARS ago as a child. Maybe I should say, YEARS, and, YEARS ago. Sometimes the truth hurts.
We stayed at the KOA just outside of Carlsbad. It was a great place to stay. I would have to rate it a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. It was clean, well set up, and, if you didn't want to cook, they smoked BBQ every night, and, they would even deliver to your site. Can't get much better than that.
(this is the only picture of our campsite I got. The Quail liked it too)

The only down side was the wind. Sadly, the wind would follow us for the rest of our trip. Some nights not so bad, others, miserable. While in Carlsbad, we got hit with 65 mph winds, not once, but, twice. The other two days the winds only blew around 30mph. Sounds strange, but, that was a relief.
One of the ladies at camp told us if we had time, we needed to make sure we visited Sitting Bull Falls in Lincoln National Forest. She told us it would be well worth our time. She was right. It was beautiful. David loved the fact it was a National Forest, and, there were NO trees.

Then we found a fun place to stop, shop, and, take a couple pictures of the locals. Leave it to us to find these crazy, wacky spots. For us, this is what makes traveling fun.

Hope you had fun checking out the pics as much as we had taking them.
